Frequently Asked Questions

Planning:

Q. When should I start planning my campaign?
A. The earlier the better. Summer is transit advertising's busiest month, many advertisers will book several months to a year in advance. Considering the heavy tourist economy of many of our markets, it is a good idea to plan at least a few months ahead.

Q. Can ATA provide showing levels for each market?
A. In transit markets of our size, a direct percentage of buses in the fleet equates to a showing level. For example, a 75 showing in Portland, ME, would be 22 out of 29 total fleet buses.

Q. Can I choose the route I want my sign or wrap to travel?
A. No – vehicles are swapped out and will travel different routes within one transit system, extending the reach of your campaign.

Production:

Q.  How long will my sign or wrap last?
A.  Signs and wraps can last up to two years or more, depending upon wear.

Q.  How do I get my sign or wrap produced?
A.  ATA will produce your sign from your art files. Graphic/layout services are available upon request at a separate charge.

Q.  When do I need to submit my art files?
A.  Print-ready art files must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to posting date. You can email the files, mail them, or ftp arrangements can be made if files are too large to email.

Q.  What does “Street”, “Curb”, and “Assorted” mean?
A.  Street = Driver’s side of the vehicle
Curb = Passenger loading side of vehicle
Assorted = This size is available on more than one side of a vehicle in the fleet
Interior = Inside the vehicle, above the seating area

Q.  What does “direct apply” and “framed” mean?
A.  Some markets have “direct apply” signs, which are a vinyl material applied directly to the vehicle. Other markets have signs in frames that display them on the vehicle.

Q: What happens when the graphics are removed?
A: In both the application and removal of vehicle wraps, the key is to work with an experienced install team. ATA uses tried and true installers for vehicle wraps. If your vehicle is free of repainting or touch-up paint, removal should not be an issue.
